Jorvik Removals is a family-run business with our moving experience and knowledge passed down from father to son for three generations (over 80 years).
In fact, the grandfather of current owner, Melvyn Hughes, started his own house removal firm back in 1948.
Melvyn branched out on his own back in 1999 to form Jorvik Removals. Initially, he used a third party to provide storage but has since brought it in-house.
After securing the first
storage site in Clifton Moor, Jorvik expanded their storage offering to Acomb in 2019 to provide a joined up removals and
self storage service for the people of Yorkshire.
Today, Jorvik has six removal vans, two self storage deposits, 200 shipping containers , 80 indoor storage rooms and
hundreds of happy customers.
Jorvik prides itself not only on its years of experience, but also on its highly trained workforce.
All our removal porters/drivers are fully trained in removals and packing by Melvyn Hughes himself - passing down the knowledge that his father and grandfather passed down to him.
